Alex Garcia is the Chief Meteorologist and Weather Team Leader for KABB/WOAI in San Antonio, Texas. Alex is a multi-disciplined individual with professional experience as an educator, broadcaster and entrepreneur. He holds several degrees and certifications, including a Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University and a Master's in Educational Administration.
Alex has serves on the AMS Board of Broadcast Meteorology as a panelist for Spanish language applicants. He also serves as Chair of the AMS Board on Continuing Professional Development.

David W. Sommer, Ph.D.

David Sommer is Professor and Charles E. Cheever Chair of Risk Management at St. Mary’s University. Prior to moving to St. Mary’s in 2007, he spent 12 years at the Terry College of Business at the Univ. of Georgia. He holds a B.B.A. degree from St. Mary’s Univ., and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Wharton School of the Univ. of Pennsylvania.
David is a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Assn. He is also a Past President of the American Risk and Insurance Assn, the premier global professional association of risk and insurance scholars, a Past President of the Southern Risk and Insurance Assn., and a member of the Risk Theory Society.

Abi Potter Clough, CPCU, MBA is a Senior Business Procedures Consultant for MetLife Auto & Home, where she leads digital claims customer communications. She earned her CPCU in 2013 and her MBA in International Business in 2012. Abi is the Chair of the CPCU Society’s International Insurance Interest Group and serves as a member of the International Ambassador Committee and is a past Society Governor in the upstate New York region. In addition to her CPCU and MBA, she has the API, AIC-M, AIM, AIS, and AINS designations. Abi is a compelling speaker and writer on various insurance, insurtech, and leadership topics.

Logan Scherschel

Wildland Urban Interface Specialist

Logan Scherschel graduated from Purdue University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Planning and Decision Making. He worked three seasons as a wildland firefighter for the National Park Service at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore before he started working for Texas A&M Forest Service as a Wildland Urban Interface Specialist out of San Antonio, Texas in 2014. Logan has traveled across the United States assisting several other states with wildfire response including Indiana, Texas, Michigan, Florida, Colorado, Missouri, Utah, Oregon, and North Carolina. His current job duties involve working with homeowners, local governments, and fire departments to prepare for and mitigat

Michael Gonzales, MBA, JD

Michael Gonzales is an associate in the Dallas office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Professional Liability Practice. Prior to law school, Michael worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter. He focused his legal education on insurance and business law, and in addition to his Juris Doctor, he earned his MBA. Michael served as the Editor in Chief of his law journal and also on Texas Tech Univ. School of Law's advocacy organization, Board of Barristers, which is ranked in the top 25 nationally and where Michael was ranked a top-ten advocate for the class of 2016. Michael is currently pursuing the CPCU designation and completed the 2017 Dallas Bar Assn Trial Academy.

Bob Rogers began his insurance career as a college trainee with MetLife. Bob served in numerous sales and sales management positions until 1991, when he accepted a position at MetLife’s New York home office. He retired from MetLife in 2001 as vice president and national sales director for MetLife’s Voluntary Permanent Life Division. Bob was a principal and chief marketing officer for Accident Insurance Services, Inc. (AIS) in Dallas, TX from 2002 until the firm was sold in 2016. AIS was a managing general agency for several carriers in the ERISA occupational accident market, as well as the voluntary benefits market.

Susie Quintana, MPH, CPT has been in the health & fitness industry for almost 20 years. She is the owner & operator of Q Movements, LLC which provides personalized, small group and corporate training services. Susie’s coaching is based on creating a personalized plan for her client’s fitness needs and goals through cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and balance training. She specializes in connecting the body and mind through meditation for stress reduction and overall health. Susie is a San Antonio native. She graduated from Baylor Univ. with an emphasis in Biology and earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Univ. of North Texas Health Science Center @ Fort Worth.

Aaron Wright, FCAS, CSPA, CPCU

Aaron Wright leads several teams of underwriters, actuaries, data experts, and data scientist that support new product development and innovation.

Aaron began his insurance career in 2000 with the last 16 years spent at USAA. Over the course of his career he has worked in auto and property pricing, state management, reinsurance, catastrophe modeling, predictive modeling, competitive intelligence, and innovation.

Aaron graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Statistics. He is an AIR Certified Catastrophe Modeler, a CPCU, a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics.

Pablo A. Garza, P.E.

Mr. Garza is an engineering graduate from Texas A&M University - Kingsville with a background in civil/structural design/engineering, inspection, and construction administration for industrial/oil refining/chemical facilities, marine and waterfront facilities, and municipal/commercial facilities. He has experience and industry knowledge of: civil/structural design, engineering, procurement, engineering management, construction administration and management, civil/structural design evaluation, land surveying, cost estimating and budget control, and the implementation of quality and control procedures.

She has underwritten and managed relationships in various industries including defense contracting, hospital networks, colleges, universities, manufacturers, distributors, retail chains and commercial real estate investment. As a Regional Corporate Banker, Cristina focuses on strategic capital formation and depository structures that help maximize the return for an organization and streamline their operations.
