Mission Statement

To provide leadership and professional development opportunities to industry professionals while mentoring aspiring professionals so that they may serve the community in a competent and ethical manner.

Dear Alamo Chapter CPCU's:
The nominating committee is pleased to present the following slate of officers for the 2012 / 2013 term:

  • President - Ruth Peterson
  • Vice President - Hillary Law
  • Treasurer - Paul Scrivano
  • Secretary - Kevin Risen

We will be taking nominations from the floor and voting on these officer positions at our May 22, 2012 luncheon.  Please make every effort to attend and vote for the future leaders of our chapter.

The nominating committee would also like to thank two of our officers from the current term.  Tracy Thaxton, our current Vice President has served our chapters as an officer for the past two years.  He has been in integral part of our team and was instrumental in our Circle of Excellence submission in 2010/2011 which netted the Chapter a Gold rating.  Tracy has recently accepted a position in the Scottsdale, AZ area and we wish him all of the best.  The Alamo Chapter's loss will be the Arizona Chapter's gain.

We would also like to recognize and thank our long standing Treasurer, Shirley Colyer.  Shirley has been the linchpin of the chapter for numerous years.  Her dedication, commitment and leadership will be greatly missed.  Shirley, we all truly appreciate everything you have done for the Alamo Chapter.

Remember to join us at the May meeting!

Invigorate and Inspire,
Drew Apperson

Diversity

2012 Essay Contest

The CPCU Society Diversity Committee is sponsoring our fourth annual Diversity Essay contest. This year’s question is:

How can the CPCU Society utilize social media to attract and maintain a more diverse membership, when there may be limited diversity in the Society’s local chapters?

In the committee's efforts to diversify the Society’s membership, the committee would like to get ideas and guidance from both Society members and nonmembers. Please participate in this essay contest and provide us with your thoughts on the above question.
